Following a major resurgence of interest in the A.V. 1611 — described in the October 23, 1995, edition of Christianity Today as “a grassroots backlash against contemporary English-language versions” — several prominent Bible colleges suddenly morphed into bastions of “King James Onlyism." After years of ignoring, avoiding, contradicting, ridiculing, or outright rejecting this position, fundamentalist schools were now assuring prospective students that their faculties had really been champions of the "Old Black Book” all along, etc.
